The Launching of ‘Eye on Asia’ Resource Centre

‘Eye on Asia’ , a collaborative effort by Business China, the National Library, International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore), and International Trading Institute @ Singapore Management University, was launched on 10th Feb 2018. Eye on Asia (www.eyeonasia.sg ) aims to provide resources for young Singaporeans who wish to find out more about the region and explore internship or working opportunities in China and other Asian countries.

Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and Health and Board Director of Business China, Mr Chee Hong Tat was guest of honour at the event. He said: “To ride on the region’s growth, we need to strengthen Singapore’s position as a hub in Asia. Talent is a key success factor to make this strategy work. We need to develop Singaporeans who are familiar with other Asian countries and can operate comfortably in these markets.”

Business China’s contributions to the ‘Eye on Asia’ Resource Centre include the provision of reflection journals by Business China Youth Chapter (BCYC) participants of the Winter Learning Journeys to China as well as videos of participants at our events.  Business China also participated in focus group discussions leading up to the launch. Through these stories and videos, we hope to enthuse more Singaporeans to move from awareness to action, and to engage in programmes which will immerse them in the Chinese market.
