With over 100 sign-ups and 75 students selected from 12 Junior Colleges, this immersive 3-day China-ready programme featured talks by renowned local scholars and celebrity such as Professor Lee Hock Ming, Dr Wu Qi, and Director Jack Neo. Participants deepened their understanding of China’s history, society, culture, economy, and Singapore-China relations. The programme nurtured their bilingual and bicultural strengths, encouraging them to confidently use Chinese in daily life and explore opportunities in China.
A standout session involved hands-on intangible cultural heritage crafts (非遗手作) following a Chinese history class. Students discovered how China’s heritage economy revitalises traditional culture into thriving businesses. They then brainstormed ways these concepts could be adapted in Singapore, leading to creative group projects showcased on the final day.

Corporate visits to leading Chinese companies gave students valuable insights into global business operations and Singapore-China economic ties.
Renowned local director Mr Jack Neo shared his journey from creating popular short comedic skits to directing feature films that capture Singapore’s unique culture. He encouraged students to appreciate their identity and share Singapore’s stories with global audiences as they step beyond our shores.
