Business China was invited to participate in the Public Sector Scholarship and Career (PSSC) Fair held at the Grand Corpthorne Waterfront Hotel on 1st June by the Public Service Commission. The Go East team seized this opportunity to reach out to more than a thousand “A” level students, in a bid to promote awareness about Business China, and drive home the importance of bilingualism and biculturalism.
Student members recruitment was conducted and facilitated through screening of the corporate video, one-to-one sharing by Business China Youth Chapter members; as well as complimentary instant photos taken against the Go East back drop of “Being bilingual and bicultural, a bigger world beckons”.
Thanks to the patience and effort of the 8 BCYC members, as well as the students’ own interests to understand the implications of a rising China, more than 100 “A” level graduates expressed interests to join as student members. They cited the primary motivation of learning more about contemporary China and understanding their own future roles in an ever changing world. Business China is appreciated by the youths as a younger, more pragmatic and forward-looking organisation to facilitate their upkeeping and upgrading of their bilingual and bicultural capabilities; and to opening up a whole new world of opportunities.
