FUTURECHINA GLOBAL FORUM 2016: CHINA’S REBALANCING: WATCH THE NEW ECONOMY EMERGE
– Veteran practitioners and thought leaders convene to share their insights on China’s reforms and rebalancing
Singapore, 12 May 2016 – China’s economy is undergoing progressive reforms and renewals in a bid to re-energise its slowing growth and transform from an investment and export-driven model to a consumer-based, innovation-driven economic model. The FutureChina Global Forum 2016, themed “China’s Rebalancing: Watch the New Economy Emerge”, is an exciting review of China’s great leap into the brave new world of emerging new industries. Proudly presented by Business China and held on 18 and 19 July, 2016 at The Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, the Forum will feature about 50 esteemed speakers across 16 plenary and panel discussion sessions to deliberate on issues affecting China’s development.
Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister & Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnamwill be gracing the Closing Plenary Lunch on 19 July as the Distinguished Keynote Speaker. Representatives from some of China’s largest technology and services corporations, such as Tencent, Huawei, Didi.com; as well as Mr Forrest Li, Founder of Garena Online, Mr Mo Ran, CEO of AcFun TV, Mr Wang Guobin, Founder of Tubatu.com, and Miss Mingming, Founder of Baobao-wang.com, will be sharing field experiences of their foray into the exciting new economy frontiers. Business China is also working with both Chinese Academy of Sciences Holdings (CASH) and China Internet Development Foundation (CIDF) to feature key developments in China’s science and technology frontier. Speakers will share on China’s original inventions in material sciences, smart medical care for the elderly, and other innovations with potentials to heighten resource efficiency and better lives.
Into its 7th installation, the FutureChina Global Forum (FCGF) is a high-level China-centric forum established in Singapore by Business China since 2010. A bilingual platform that is independent and interactive, FCGF creates opportunities for participants from all over the world to gather and share insights on China’s ever-changing landscape. The Forum is expecting a turnout of about 400 policy makers, top business leaders, C-level executives and renowned academia to exchange on hot-button issues pertaining to China’s growth.
Chairman of Business China, Mr Chua Thian Poh said, “From being the world’s factory, China is hoping to become the world’s laboratory, and idea foundry. With an increasingly well-educated and well-informed workforce, and no lack of funding, I am hopeful that China will succeed if domestic and international conditions remain favourable. The current technology and innovation drive also presents foreign investors with a new window of opportunity in co-creating and co-developing with China companies. However, China’s ultra-fast pace and increasingly sophisticated market structures and consumer demands may at times seem daunting. The FutureChina Global Forum is an acclaimed platform for understanding China and for participants to gain up-to-date insights and mindshare to better navigate its complexity.”
The FutureChina Global Forum is the only Forum that goes beyond the usual discussions to provide genuine, candid insider’s views on China’s key drivers of change and the implications of these changes on key stakeholders. Key take-aways of FCGF will include 1) business-relevant insights on developments and new trends shaping China’s growth trajectory; 2) an integrated picture of China’s evolution and how this affects its interaction with the rest of the world; and 3) High-level sharing of perspectives and networking with distinguished business leaders, entrepreneurs, senior officials and thought leaders who have an interest in China’s development.
Corporations with existing business operations or future plans to expand in China; enterprises or individuals with strong China interests; as well as companies in China looking to interact with the global business community to spearhead internationalisation efforts, are invited to register their interest to participate in this annual event at www.futurechina.sg.
