FutureChina Global Forum 2015: Opportunities Amidst China’s Rebalancing
– International experts on China convene in Singapore to share an insider’s perspective on leveraging fresh opportunities in new growth sectors

Singapore, 28 May 2015 – China has entered a new phase in its growth trajectory as its economy transits from an investment and export-driven model to a consumer-based, innovation-driven economic model, against the backdrop of an increasingly diversified and complex society. The FutureChina Global Forum 2015, with the theme of “Opportunities Amidst China’s Rebalancing”, is a timely assessment of China’s current course, reflecting the fact that while the economic restructuring process leads to a significant moderation in the pace of growth, this also gives rise to a wave of fresh opportunities in the services and other new growth sectors. Held on 20 and 21 July, 2015 at The Shangri-La HotelSingapore, the Forum will feature approximately 60 esteemed speakers across 16 plenary sessions and panel discussions.

Singapore’s Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong will be gracing the Closing Plenary Lunch on 21 July as the Keynote speaker. The illustrious list of speakers includes Mr Tung Chee Hwa, Former Chief Executive of Hong Kong; Mr Justin Lin Yifu, Founding Director of Peking University’s China Centre for Economic Research; Mr George Yeo, Chairman, Kerry Logistics Network Limited and Former Foreign Affairs Minister for Singapore; Mr Levin Zhu, Visiting Professor, School of Economics & Management, Tsinghua University as well as government officials, business leaders, academia, opinion leaders and media personalities from Greater China, Singapore, the United States, Asia and Europe.

Into its 6th installation, the FutureChina Global Forum (FCGF) is a high-level China-centric forum established in Singapore by Business China since 2010. An independent platform that is bilingual and interactive, FCGF creates opportunities for participants from all over the world to gather and share their insights on China’s ever-changing landscape. More than 350 global experts, policy makers, business leaders and C-level executives are expected at the Forum this year to exchange perspectives on hot-button issues pertaining to China.

Chairman of Business China, Mr Chua Thian Poh said, “The leadership of China is committed towards implementing comprehensive reforms to meet China’s pressing challenges. The opening up of financial markets, internationalisation of Chinese domestic enterprises and the development of the “One Belt, One Road” strategy, will create many opportunities for strategic alliances between our local enterprises and their Chinese counterparts in new areas. The FutureChina Global Forum is a timely platform for participants to gain insights on the new paradigm and leverage on opportunities that have emerged amidst China’s rebalancing.”

The FutureChina Global Forum is the only Forum that goes beyond the usual discussions to provide genuine, candid insider’s views on China’s key drivers of change and the implications of these changes on key stakeholders. Key take-aways of FCGF will include 1) business-relevant insights on developments and new trends shaping China’s growth trajectory; 2) an integrated picture of China’s evolution and how this affects its interaction with the rest of the world; and 3) High-level sharing of perspectives and networking with distinguished business leaders, entrepreneurs, senior officials and thought leaders who have an interest in China’s development.

Corporations with existing business operations or future business expansion plans in China; enterprises or individuals with an interest in China; as well as companies in China that are looking to interact with the global business community to spearhead internationalisation efforts, are invited to register their interest to participate in this annual event at www.futurechina.sg.
