Proudly Presented by Business China & Chasen Sino-Sin
In a bid to enhance the cultural bridge linking Singapore and China, for the first time in Singapore, Business China and Chasen Sino-Sin jointly presented a special 3D digital cultural relics exhibition. “Discovering a Lost Dynasty – the Mysterious Liao Dynasty of Inner Mongolia” (追寻逝去的王朝–中国内蒙古辽代考古研究) featured more than fifty priceless cultural relics in 3D. These extraordinary archaeological findings were unearthed from a mysterious Liao Dynasty tomb in the Tu Er Ji Mountains. This significant discovery had uncovered the influence and prominence of the Khitan Tribe in Inner Mongolia. Mr Tala, Chief Archaeologist of Inner Mongolia, was specially invited to address the public on “Heritage of the Khitans” on 13 October, at the Jurong Regional Library.
Held in conjunction with Business China’s 5th Anniversary celebrations, this event is one of Business China’s cultural endeavours since its inception in 2007. Ms Low Yen Ling, CEO of Business China shared, “Culture, history and language are closely intertwined. Being able to better appreciate part of China’s history allows us to have a deeper understanding of China’s diverse and rich identity. We hope this exhibition’s special combination of history told through technology will enthuse Singaporeans to find out more about Chinese culture.”
Prior to the public exhibition, Business China and Chasen Sino-Sin co-hosted an exclusive preview for more than 60 Business China APEX members as well as distinguished guests on 10 October. Many remarked that the 3D effects of the relics were realistic, and the exhibition had successfully brought the artefacts out of a traditional museum, thereby making culture and history more interactive and accessible, achieving the effects of a mobile museum. Mr Tala was also onsite to share his studies and knowledge of the Liao Dynasty and Khitan Tribe with the guests.
Members of the public were treated to an exciting journey through the 3D digital exhibition of cultural relics at the Jurong Regional Library from 12 – 21 Oct. Viewers young and old had fun exploring ancient Chinese history at their finger tips with state-of-the-art technology, expanding and minimising the artefacts on screen as well as turning them 360 degrees, which would not have been possible with the real artefacts. On 13 October, Mr Tala’s public lecture on “Heritage of the Khitans” attracted more than 150 members of the public. Many of whom travelled from other parts of Singapore to Jurong Regional Library especially to attend the Lecture. The Lecture allowed Singaporeans to have an all-rounded and in depth understanding of Liao Dynasty history and the Khitan Tribe, as well as the multi-faceted and inclusive nature of the Chinese culture.
