Introduction of Business China Summer School Scholarship

The Business China Summer School Scholarship offers Singaporean youths more opportunities to participate in summer school programmes at any Chinese university. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in understanding contemporary China and be willing to serve as a cultural bridge between Singapore, China, and the wider region.

Objective of Scholarship

The Business China Summer School Scholarship aims to support Singaporean youths participating in summer school programmes at Chinese universities, fostering firsthand understanding of contemporary China, which includes culture and the business environment. Beyond academic enrichment, the scholarship also provides a platform for relationship-building and networking with other students in China. The scholarship contributes to the development of Singaporean youths into culturally-adept individuals who are well-versed in Singapore-China dynamics, thereby strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Eligibility Criteria
  1. This scholarship is open to full-time students from the six local Universities below:
    • Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
    • National University of Singapore (NUS)
    • Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
    • Singapore Management University (SMU)
    • Singapore University of Social Science (SUSS)
    • Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
  1. University undergraduates must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents and meet the minimum Grade Point Average requirement of 3.2.
  2. Applicants should have a good CCA record.
  3. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in understanding contemporary China.
  4. Applicants should only apply for the scholarship after successful acceptance to a summer school programme in China.
Scholarship Details

2 WeeksEach student will receive a flat disbursement of S$2000. *
4 WeeksEach student will receive a flat disbursement of S$5000. *

*The entire scholarship amount will only be disbursed after the student provides proof of completion of a summer school programme, such as a certificate of attendance or graduation.

Deliverables

Successful applicants will be required to submit a report in the form of either written or a short video recording, on the knowledge and experience gained during the summer school programme.
