Former Chief Economist of National Bureau of Statistics of China, Mr Yao Jingyuan, spoke about “China’s Economic Development: Opportunities and Challenges” at the Eminent Speakers Series on 12 June 2011. China, currently in its 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) period, faces both opportunities for growth and tough challenges. Mr Yao shared his analysis on what was required to achieve the objectives set out in the plan.
Mr Yao has made in-depth studies in the fields of the restructuring of China’s circulation system, international economic and trade relations, rural and agriculture development, and macro-economic performance and development. He has published studies associated with macro-economic policies.
This is the fourth time Business China is partnering with Lianhe Zaobao to organise Eminent Speaker Series. Minister-of-State for Trade & Industry and National Development, Mr Lee Yi Shyan, also graced the event.
