SINGAPORE, 30th SEPTEMBER 2022 – With effect from 1 October 2022, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong, and Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, will be appointed by the Prime Minister’s Office to serve as advisers to the sixth term of board of directors of Business China.
Set up in November 2007, Business China is a non-profit organisation that aims to nurture a core of bilingual and bicultural Singaporeans, who can play a role in economically and culturally linking China and the world.
Since 2010, Business China has organised more than 1000 events, benefiting more than 120,000 participants. Flagship programs include Future China Global Forum, Business China Award, Advanced Leaders Programme, and Singapore-China Youth Interns Exchange Scheme (YES).
At the same time, Business China will be appointing seven industry leaders as part of its sixth term of board of directors to meet the ever-changing economic global landscape. With the new advisers and board members, Business China will no doubt continue its mission to be the business and cultural platform between Singapore and China.
Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Chairman, Business China, said “We would like to extend a warm welcome to the two new advisers and seven new board members to Business China’s board of directors. The seven new appointed board members are Mr Png Cheong Boon, CEO of Enterprise Singapore, Mr Lim Hock Chee, CEO of Sheng Siong Group, Mr Wong Chee Herng, Managing Director/CEO at Straits Construction Group, Mr Lim Chee Kean, Chairman of the Singapore Smart Nation Internet of Things Technical Committee, Ms Lee Huay Leng, Editor-in-Chief, Chinese Media Group of SPH Media Trust, Mr Lei Ming, CEO of Kuwo Science and Technology and Ms Tin Pei Ling, CEO of Business China.
