On 22 September 2023, nearly a hundred attendees attended the panel session on the intriguing lyrics of China singer-songwriter Dao Lang’s hit “Luocha Haishi”. Guest speakers Zaobao columnist Mr Giam Meng Tuck and South Seas Society’s Dr Koh Chin Yee had a lively discussion with the local cultural community, students, and young working professionals. They analysed the popularity of the satirical song based on current trends and cultural phenomena in China.
It was our pleasure to have Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development, as the Guest of Honour.
Also, attendees had fun at pop-up booths set up by the Business China Youth Chapter, where a few impressive full-mark scorers of the Mid-Autumn Festival Quiz walked away with attractive prizes.
