Chongqing is China’s largest mega city with a massive population of over 32 million. Singapore and Chongqing share a close partnership, having both embarked on Singapore and China’s third government-to-government project in the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative in 2015.
There, the delegates visited the Chongqing Planning Gallery to understand the vision and development plans for Chongqing, the China-Singapore Chongqing Multimodal Distribution and Connectivity Centre which serves as the physical facility for multimodal operations (air, river, rail and road logistics) in Chongqing, and the advanced manufacturing facility for SERES electric vehicles.

The towering Raffles City Chongqing stands at the intersection of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, and is now a defining feature of Chongqing’s skyline. Guocoland 18T in Chongqing’s oldest heritage neighbourhood Shibati (18 Steps) represents the integration of the modern with heritage, incorporating the historic matchbox factory site into the design and development.

The delegation, composing of Business China’s corporate members and close partners of Business China, was led by Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan. Business China Board Director Mr David Su and CEO Mr Ho Chee Hin were part of the delegation.
