The exact data we collect will depend on the purpose and needs. Business China endeavours to only collect, use or disclose personal data about an individual which it considers reasonably necessary for the purposes underlying such collection, use or disclosure.

How We Use Personal Data

We may use the data provided for the following purposes:

  • To verify your identity and document accurate information
  • To establish or manage your relationship with us
  • To provide you with information on our upcoming events or activities, where you have specifically requested to receive such information
  • Responding to, handling, and processing queries and requests, applications, complaints and feedback from you
  • Transmitting to any unaffiliated third parties including our third-party service providers and agents, and relevant governmental and/or regulatory authorities, whether in Singapore or abroad, as part of our service delivery process or while complying to law

Accuracy of information

Business China strives to ensure the accuracy of the personal data it has. However, the individual also plays a part to ensure that the personal data provided is correct. Please see the sections below on how you may correct any errors or omissions of your personal data.

Access and Corrections to Your Personal Data

You may request access and/or correction to the personal data currently in our possession or control by writing to us. We will need to verify your identity and review the nature of your request before fulfilling it.

Please submit your access and corrections request to dpo@businesschina.org.sg with the title “Personal Data Access & Correction Request”.

Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw your consent for the collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal data in our possession or under our control by submitting your request to dpo@businesschina.org.sg

Please note that your withdrawal of consent could result in certain legal or operational consequences arising from such withdrawal. In this regard, depending on the extent of your withdrawal of consent for us to process your personal data, it may mean that we will not be able to continue with your existing relationship with us. We will advise you of these when you make the withdrawal of consent.

Retention of Personal Data

We have put in place measures such that your personal data in our possession or under our control is destroyed as soon as it is reasonable to assume that (i) the purpose for which that personal data was collected is no longer being served by the retention of such personal data; and (ii) retention is no longer necessary for any other legal or business purposes.

The Business China website adopts the use of cookies. A cookie is an alphanumeric string of identifier that websites use to transfer to the cookie file of your browser on your computer’s hard disk.
