At the China Studies Perspective Forum 2024 held at River Valley High School on April 17th, over 500 enthusiastic students and young professionals gathered to explore the theme of “Navigating the Nexus of Technological Cooperation: Southeast Asia, China, and the Global Stage”.
Mr. Koh Hong Eng, Global Chief Public Services Industry Scientist at Huawei International Pte Ltd, and Ms. Asha Hemrajani, Senior Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for National Security, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, spoke at this year’s forum. Both speakers offered fresh perspectives on the topic of technological collaboration between ASEAN and China, sparking spontaneous discussions during the Question and Answer segment.
The forum provided a bilingual and bicultural platform for youth to glean Western and Eastern perspectives on China-related issues and enabled attendees to develop their unique vantage points, thereby building a learning community of China-conversant and globally-aware youths. Through its endeavours, the forum sought to promote understanding and appreciation of differing philosophical orientations, political views, and cultural nuances in international engagements.
