Date : 25 August 2020, Tuesday
Time : 3pm – 4.30pm
Theme : Accelerate China-ASEAN Venture Capital investment and Start-up Innovation beyond COVID-19
Synopsis:
The pandemic is splintering the world economy. As the Chinese economy slows, some venture capitals see fewer deal opportunities in 2020; its slowest start to the year since 2013, with venture capitalists being more selective in funding. With the regional economy reopening, there is a greater diversity of capital, by fund structure, geographic-focus, stage and sector expertise in ASEAN. Innovative technologies such as personalised medicine, online education and drone-based solutions are gaining traction and attracting fund investors’ interest. Unicorns are often born out of global crises – will the tech sector birth off the next wave of unicorns?
The session co-organised by Business China and EDB, will investigate the latest trends and evolving correlation of the capital and tech start-up industry, and how ASEAN can explore opportunities and accelerate collaborations with the Chinese market, pushing regional economic growth to the next stage post-COVID-19.
This event is the fifth in a series of webinars launched by Business China, titled FC Global Business Series, which focuses on sharing the latest trends and insights concerning China, ASEAN and the world.
