Business China partners the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to co-organise the China-Singapore Knowledge Forum (CSKF)
Business China partnered China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to co-organise the China-Singapore Knowledge Forum (CSKF) 2019 on 18 November 2019 at the White Swan Hotel. The CSKF is the annual flagship event of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City which was incepted in 2013.
Marking the third year of both countries working together, the China-Singapore Knowledge Forum involved two panels of discussion. Titled ‘Enhancing New Driving Engines of the Greater Bay Area’, Mr Lee was invited to make an introductory speech as one of the distinguished panel members before commencing the first panel discussion to share his views on the topic. During his speech, Mr Lee shared on the vast improvement of the Guangzhou Knowledge City, evident from the infrastructure, amenities and greatly improved living conditions. He shared on four areas which the Guangzhou Knowledge City could be improved on, namely Investment in Science and Technology and accelerate the commercial use of scientific research, Intellectual Property Protection and Application, Professional services firms and Ecosystem knowledge-based industries, as well as Personnel training. He shared that both Singapore and Guangzhou faces pressure and uncertainties from foreign trade, making the Belt and Road Initiative and the collaboration between both countries increasingly important. The panel discussion brought about insightful exchanges of views on Singapore-China collaboration opportunities in areas such as innovation and technology.
Ms Tin moderated the second panel discussion, titled ‘Exploring New Opportunities for China-Singapore Collaboration’. The panel discussion saw fruitful sharing from the speakers in areas such as innovation and technology driving forces for the Greater Bay Area, as well as how it plays a key role in the banking and finance services industry. Through the sharing, it was evident that there were greater opportunities for collaboration in the Greater Bay Area.
The forum attracted speakers from BioSynGen, National University of Singapore, Huawei, BeiGene, PCI HOLDING LTD and PCI-Suntek Technology Co., Ltd, OCBC Wing Hang Bank (China) Limited and Innovative Business Foundation Limited.
