Singapore, Tuesday 15 September 2020 | The FutureChina Global Forum (FCGF) 2020 (Special Virtual Edition), themed “A Resilient Future: Post-Pandemic Transformation & Opportunities in China and ASEAN”, commenced today virtually.
Organised by Business China, the Forum features 67 esteemed speakers across three panel discussions and eight thematic roundtable discussions, with more than 20 virtual exhibits from regional companies，including a 30th Anniversary Milestones Mural Wall and exclusive networking sessions; presented on a refreshing 360-degree virtual platform promising an immersive experience.
Chairman of Business China, Mr Lee Yi Shyan said, “The outbreak of Covid-19 has driven the global economic activity to a near standstill. We are heading into the deepest global recession in decades. While adjusting and mitigating the adverse impacts of Covid-19, we need to focus on “transformation” and the “opportunities” a post-pandemic era may bring. I hope that through the sharing of our esteemed speakers, participants to the forum will be able to gain new insights to the latest developments in China and ASEAN, and formulate new strategy for the new normal”.
The Forum congregates over 500 distinguished business leaders, public personalities, leading experts, thought leaders from Singapore, China and the region. Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister for Finance, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry and Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Health are the Guests-of-Honour of the three-day FCGF 2020, while Dr Tan See Leng, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Manpower and Trade and Industry is Special Guest.
Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister for Finance also delivered a keynote speech to kickstart the Forum.
FCGF 2020 focuses on the trends, trade flow shifts, growth opportunities and lessons drawn following the COVID-19 outbreak. Singapore is strategically positioned as ASEAN and China’s international gateway, economic hub and centre of innovation, respectively. As a long-standing partner of China, Singapore has much to offer in catalysing growth, connecting and facilitating collaboration between China and ASEAN. FCGF 2020 allows participants to gain insights to the China and ASEAN’s present and future development as well as appreciate the strategic role that Singapore plays.
Signing of MOU between Business China and Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum
Business China signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum witnessed by Dr Tan See Leng, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Manpower and Trade and Industry and Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Chairman of Business China. The MOU helps strengthen the resilience of enterprises in Singapore and China by encouraging closer collaboration in search of business opportunities, while further reinforcing Singapore’s position to bridge between China and ASEAN countries.
The complementary strengths of Singapore, China and ASEAN companies will help one another capture market openings to weather through challenging economic times. The MOU signifies the support between Business China and Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum towards each other’s flagship forums, programmes, activities and market studies to benefit companies.
