Business China Awards: Call for nominations
Nominations are now open for the Business China Awards 2019, which honours outstanding business leaders and organisations for their contributions in strengthening Singapore-China relations.
Now in its 9th year, the Awards - which also aims to promote bilingualism and biculturalism in Singapore - will be held in conjunction with the annual flagship FutureChina Global Forum 2019 on June 7.
There are three main award categories, namely the Business China Excellence Award, the Business China Enterprise Award, and the Business China Young Achiever Award.
The final award acknowledges young adults aged 45 and below who are strong role models for Singaporeans in the areas of progressive learning and appreciation of the Chinese language and culture.
Lee Yi Shyan, chairman of Business China, noted that the awards have grown over the years, with 24 winners in its history so far.
Stephen Lee, managing director of GMT Investments and former chairman of Singapore Airlines, will be helming the 12-member Business China Awards judging panel, with former Award recipients Li Rongrong and Chen Deming also joining the team.
Mr Li is the vice-chairman for China Centre for International Economic Exchanges and the founding chairman of China's State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
Dr Chen is currently the chairman of the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment and the former president of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait and former minister for commerce of China.
Mr Lee said: "The inclusion of senior Chinese representatives will further elevate the regional status of the awards and recognise our efforts in strengthening Singapore-China relations."
OCBC Bank returns as the co-presenter of the Business China Awards.
Nominations will close after March 11, with results to be announced in June during the Awards presentation ceremony.
