Launched in November 2007, Business China proactively nurtures young talents via programmes targeting a wide range of students and young working professionals, which aims to motivate and facilitate mass understanding of China among Singaporean youths, foster China-conversant young Singaporeans through competency-building platforms, and cultivate a China-ready Singaporean workforce through in-market immersion opportunities.

To further strengthen Singaporean youth's understanding of the Chinese market, culture and business environment, Business China initiated a new scholarship program to support more Singaporean students to enrol in summer school programmes organised by renowned Universities in China, like Peking University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University. This programme encourages Singapore students to learn about China through practical learning, as well as better understand the opportunities and challenges of Singapore and ASEAN; to lay a solid foundation for their future.

The Business China Summer School Scholarship was launched by Minister Josephine Teo on 11 October 2019, with the generous support of Business China’s Board Director Mr Foo Jixun,Managing Partner, GGV Capital and his spouse, Madam Serene Siar. The Business China Summer School Scholarship is open to all Singaporean polytechnic and university students, and is expected to support more than 10 Singaporean students each year.

Business China looks forward to collaborating with more philanthropists and organisations to continue the meaningful initiative and create more opportunities to nurture more “Singapore China Savvy Talents”.
