After Ms Tin’s introduction, Mr Sun delivered his keynote address, where he shared how his company overcame the odds as he expanded his business from China to Singapore to Guinea. For instance, when the company first started in Guinea, the locals set fire to their factories and went on strikes. The team had to then come up with creative solutions to solve the issue and bond with the locals.

The participants at the event were actively voicing out their questions to Mr Sun with Mr Lee Yi Shyan moderating the session.

During the Q&A session which was moderated by Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan,  the audience raised pertinent questions such as how Mr Sun managed the cultural differences as he expanded his business overseas, how to entice younger Singaporeans to get out of their comfort zone and venture into the unknown like Africa, and how to promote collaboration under the BRI initiative. Mr Sun credited his success to his international team who helped him solve different issues, the cohesion of his team, as well as Singapore’s strategic location.
