With the emergence of Blockchain innovations, the finance industry is embracing a major evolution. While Web 3.0 innovations may appear to be strong competitors against traditional finance services, its products can potentially be the technological bridge between traditional and digital finance. This building block will explore the possible co-existence of traditional finance functions and Blockchain innovations. By covering a few examples of innovations per subtopics, it aims to picture the novel concept of Blockchain, enabling a clearer understanding of the Web 3.0 era.

The three subtopics under this building block will cover the current Web 3.0 financial technology such as Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and stablecoins, as well as envision the future of the banking landscape shaped by decentralised finance (DeFi) innovations, such as dApps and assets custodian.
